We want to turn "fruit haters" into "fruit lovers"
Children who eat a lot of fruit are more peaceful, harmonious, joyful and intelligent - which is proven by research.
"To study, you need energy and Fruit and Vegetables helps children stay strong throughout the day," according to the German Community for Nutrition. Fresh fruit and vegetables also play an important role in Ayurvetic nutrition because they belong to the group of satvic food which are easily digestable, peaceful and provide balance as well as strengthening vitality.
„Fruit Food“ instead of „Fast Food“
Sadly, many children today do not eat a lot of fresh fruit and instead choose foods like french fries, pizza, ice cream, cookies, sausage, noodles or cake.
These dishes are not only full of calories and hard to digest, but also belong to the group of rajasic and tamasic foods in Ayurvetic nutrition.
These foods increase aggression and lazyness, weakening vitality and in the long run, make children and teenagers sick and already suffer greatly from obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and a high risk of cancer.
These conditions improve when the children's daily diet includes more fresh fruit.
Kids love sweet and aromatic fruit
Many children have a negative opinion of fruit because they are too sour for them and have a weak aroma. This is because many businesses sell unripened or low quality fruit which are either unripened or have been sitting there too long.
Some children do not like apples or pears, but they get very excited to enjoy an exotic, ripe, heavenly smelling mango, papaya, maracuja, pineapple or coconut. That would change some "fruit haters" into a "fruit fan."
"The farmer eats what he knows!"
In many families the saying "The farmer doesn't eat what he doesn't know!," applies and few children recognise exotic fruit like papaya, maracuja or dragonfruit. Therefore, we want that the children get to know the variety of southern and tropical fruit in theory and practice because "The farmer eats what he knows!"

Our teaching offers:
1. Fruit Lesson and Taste Test
In this lesson, we come with a big basket of organic domestic and southern fruit to schools as well as youth organizations and introduce the fruit to the children. With the aid of photographs we explain to the children which countries each fruit comes from, which trees or vines they grow on, how many kinds of each fruit there are and so on. We also explain which wonderful effect each fruit has on well-being, health and capabilities of the body. Afterward, we want to give the fruit to the children as a taste test. This way, the children can decide which fruit is their favorite.
2. Fruit World Tour for children.
In this lesson, we also come with a big basket of organic domestic and southern fruit to schools and youth organizations and go with them on a playful, fictional world tour to the countries of origin of the fruit. With posters representing the landscapes and children of each land, as well as detailed explanations, the children can dive into the foreign countries and widen their multicultural, geographic and biological horizons. The fruit are 'distant messengers' of these countries. We show where these fruit grow, which fruit in each country are basic foodstuffs and which fruit in each country are favorites of the children there. We begin the tour in our country, journey around the whole world and back to our country where we connect our conciousness with our own, rich fruit selection, then gratefully end the Fruit World Tour.
Sponsoring the project "Kids for Fruit"
Projekt-Sponsoring „Kids for Fruit“
Your donations or monthly sponsorship is very important for the non-profit project. Your donations will enable us to:
1. Buy organically grown fruit. A large basket of biological quiality fruit for a group of 20 children costs about 200 Euros for a special fruit delivery.
2. Build a website to present this project to the public for documenting and announcing the events.
3. Layout, print and mail neccessary info and teaching papers, like flyers posters, brochures, etc., for kids, teachers, parents, etc.
4. Cover expenses for administration and travelling.
